I regret not writing about this sooner - it's been a crazy few weeks for me though, so I just didn't have a chance.
In addition to an insane amount of markets (for one person), I also decided to donate a jewellery set to an amazing charity event run by a couple of amazing Kelowna artists, Sam Shakura (of Rock House Style Interior Design) and Emily Elizabeth Sterling (of Emily Elizabeth).
The event, run under the name of Rebel with a Cause (rebelwithacause.ca) was a launch party and charity event that took place last night at Third Space Coffee and the Landmark II Lobby in Kelowna. Artists from all over BC donated items for this charity auction to help support some amazing local charities and kick off one of many events to come for this new non-profit.
I'm so happy and feel so fortunate that I'm in a time in my life where I have the ability to give back with the work I'm so passionate about and that this could potentially be a bit of a lift for someone else in our community. Although I wasn't able to attend the event last night, I can't wait to see and hear all about the event and I will be sure to provide and update once I hear more.
Congratulations Sam and Emily on your first event for Rebel with a Cause. I can't wait to see what else you have planned for the future and hope to be able to help out in one capacity or another again soon.
